Rushed ~ Round 2

Three of the guards throw spears at the party.  One of these, thrown at Kismet, is at medium range; then Kismet and Enrico each are targeted with short range throws.

Against Kismet, the modified rolls are 7 and 11.  Against Enrico, I roll a 2.  At the point when the spear is thrown, there are no guards in front of the thrower, so friendly fire doesn't occur.

The sabremen then rush up the alley towards you.  They can charge next round.  That means if you stay where you are, they can blast right through you.

The party can move now.

[don't worry about the small orange numbers; they're just there to help me keep track of who was hit]

Following the party's move, the map looks as follows:

For the present, I will skip showing the x.p.  The players have only caused damage, they haven't taken any.

Kismet throws his second (and final) throwing axe at 0410

d20+1: 11
(Point Blank)

d6: 3

Then he draws the broadsword.

"I think that polearm will see some use Sonfia."

Kismet said...

Dash it all.
Final d20 was 10. Not 11. Bah.

Sofia hurls a dagger at 0410, then steps into hex 0513.

"Hold them!"

to hit: 19
dmg: 2

Afraid the polearm is just for show until 2nd level. Not only is Sofia non-proficient, but due to a background limitation can't use anything heavier than 5 lbs in melee until 2nd level.

If I'm forced to fall back, mine is NOT for show.
Just keep that in mind.

Sofia Viktorova Koleva said...

As a matter of fact, I was counting on it. :-)

Should you be forced back, you each now have a hex for it. Should they opt to attack through you and end in hexes 0413, 0512, Sofia can engage them in melee.

Alexis, give that we're in the middle of a combat can I count on the monk's stun and extra melee damage abilities working as before?

[for the time being, Sofia. I am working on sage abilities for the monk presently ~ I did some major brainstorming last night. But I won't have them in place for a bit. Perhaps a week, perhaps longer if I find it is getting cumbersome, as the bard was.

I think the monk will be easier to construct ~ though I don't have near as many abilities or studies as I'd like to have. I just put up a post about the monk you should read and I'm going to do another one after I finish updating the two campaigns]

Sofia,

2 damage will hit and stun.

If Enrico has enough AP -- I believe wearing plate + shield gives him 3 AP? -- to draw his second (and final) hand axe, throw it at the fellow in 0509, and then pick up his horseman's flail +1, he does so.

If he only has enough to pick up his flail, he does that instead.

If he doesn't have enough to pick up his flail, he draws his sabre.

Or maybe we retconned the entire "throwing down our weapons" bit since we were waiting for the sword's advice before we did so, and the flail is still on his belt and can be drawn.

In any event...

To hit: 12
Damage: 3

Kismet said...

Throwing down was retconned I believe.

AP is by weight now, not by armor worn. (Though Alexis seems dissatisfied by this and it may change eventually)

To calculate AP

Alexis Smolensk said...

Kismet has it correct regarding encumbrance. [if I adjust the encumbrance weights, it will be moderately]

Your flail is only 3.5 lbs., so you will only need 1 AP to pick it up. It costs you 2 AP to draw the axe and throw it, so that's 3 AP altogether. I thought we established with the sparring combat that Enrico was moving 4 AP/round.

The 12 hits. It will stun.

I'll start working on the next post.

I have updated the map to show the party's move. If Enrico does have another point of movement, I'd like to forego it for the present, so I can move onto the next round.

I hope you're good with that, Enrico.

Alexis Smolensk said...

Before I put up the next post, however.

The two sabremen behind the stunned leaders are going to try to charge Kismet and Enrico. To start, I will need you each to roll a d6 for initiative. I can move on from there.

Sofia Viktorova Koleva said...

Alexis, Sofia should be in 0513 after her move. :-)

Alexis Smolensk said...

I had you right. I just posted the wrong pic. I've corrected that.

[I'm unemployed now, so I'm going to start calling the games at 8 EST so I can work on projects at night]

1d6 - 3

Good with foregoing my last AP.

Sofia Viktorova Koleva said...

(OOC: Alexis, I'm terribly sorry that you're faced with unemployment again.)

Alexis Smolensk said...

Don't worry. I'll find another one.

Kismet said...

Yah, still sucks.
Hope you find it quickly.
And that you find a good one that will stick around for a while.

Alexis Smolensk said...

The front two combatants attacking the party roll a 4 and a 6. I'll play this out on the next post.

The next post is (finally) up.
