Ahmet & Enrico Characters

This post is for the characters Ahmet and Enrico alone.

Please correct me in this: as far as I remember, Ahmet is 5th level and Enrico is 1st.  Is that correct?

Both are fighters, so I need them to look at this list on the wiki of Fighter Sage Abilities.  For the moment, let's pretend that Ahmet and Enrico are just starting out, whatever their level.  Both have to choose a field (animal training, leadership, mastery of arms and training) and then a specialty in that field (Judgement, for instance, is in the field of Leadership).

Please take your time reading your options and we'll go from there.  I know the exact abilities are not worked out, but you should be able to get some sense of them from the descriptions.

That's correct, Ahmet is 5th level and Enrico is 1st level.

Ahmet chooses Mastery of Arms as his field and Puissance as his specialty.

Enrico chooses Animal Training as his field and Horseback Riding as his specialty.

When Ahmet reached 5th level, he received another specialty in the Mastery of Arms field. Would you like to take Balance, Martial Discipline or Unarmed Combat?

Balance please.

Done. You can find your sage ability knowledge points for Ahmet and Enrico on the Character Sage Abilities file on the google drive:

Enrico is an amateur in only horseback riding, this being typical for 1st level.

Ahmet is an amateur (10-29 points) in Logistics, Balance, Martial Discipline, Unarmed Combat and Empowerment. He's an authority in Puissance. I will be working on these skills in the weeks to come, as I'm able. It will be my first priority.

Feel free to ask any other questions that come to mind. I'll be working on other people, but I'll be checking around for everyone else, too.

I had forgotten.

According to new rules that I am using now, that gets rid of the old multiple number of attacks against zero levels, Ahmet is able to attack 5 times every four rounds for his level.

All combats begin thus: 1 attack, 1 attack, 1 attack, 2 attacks. The next combat does not take up where the old one ended; you always have to start with three single attacks before you get the double attack, with each new combat. Then it is 5/4 attacks until the combat ends.

I'm wondering if Enrico's sage ability (horse training) is already covered by his background (father was an outrider)? Should I pick a different sage ability?

That's definitely the kind of thing that encourages a remake of the character generator table; as my world has adjusted, many of the old details need to be upgraded for the new system.

I've altered the outrider result so that it gives 10 points of horseback riding knowledge. For a fighter, Outrider also adds a bonus proficiency in horseman's mace, flail or pick (your choice).

You can either add 10 points to your horse-rider skill, or pick a different sage ability. The horse-rider points will go up (more slowly) because you're a fighter if you don't choose to keep that as your sage field/study. Want to generate your abilities again? Now is the time to do that.

Horse rider makes the most sense for Enrico given his background and interests so I'll take that.

Regarding a Lukas question in another thread, I assume Enrico (or anyone with points in horse training) would be able to handle the vardo and similar horse-drawn vehicles if necessary, when and if we all get together again? Or is drover a separate skill?

I've updated the Sage abilities on the Drive for Enrico's extra 10 points.

Teamster skill is not a horse riding skill; it requires Logistics as a study, not animal training. So Drover is a separate skill.

Regarding Enrico's 2nd Level.

Please roll a d10 for hit points. If you roll a 1, please re-roll it. Please add your constitution bonus of +3.

I have updated your sage abilities table for a 2nd level (see the Drive). Sorry, did not roll all that well for you - and your underwater mounts jumped to amateur status. We may assume that while purchasing items in Syros, you spent some time looking over a pen of hippocampuses and learning a great deal about their mating habits and such, perhaps even getting an opportunity to briefly get upon the back of one in a stall.

Your THAC0 improves from 20 to 19.

Underwater mounts? Hopefully Enrico will find a use for that some day... or if nothing else something to talk about at cocktail parties.

Rolled a 6 for HP.
