Ankhkeg Round 2: It Retreats

All of the party can move (unless there is a chance I've stunned either Ahmet or Maximillian). Andrej has first call on 0729 if he wants to take it. The creature is large enough that anyone can throw something at it, but there's only room enough for one hand-to-hand combatant.

One more damage, and I would have been stunned. (At 10 now) Is there a problem throwing over Andrej (assuming I don't whiff?)

Alexis Smolensk said...

Nope, no problem.

Maximillian Boii said...

Sorry, I guess I am included in everyone, aren't I.

I throw my dagger at it.

d20: 1

For the dropped weapon, I need a d6 (to see if break) and I need a d8 (to determine where the dagger ends at)

I would like to throw another dart. Can I do so from this angle with no penalty?

d20: 9 (7+2) Hits AC 11
d3: 1

Ahmet steps forward and presses his attack.

To hit: 18
Damage: 11

There's no penalty, Lukas.

Ahmet, I can't let that roll count. I haven't heard from Andrej, and obviously NOW he's going to say, "Oh, let Ahmet hit it."

Jumping the gun a bit there, Big fella. Would like to confirm first with Andrej that he doesn't want to swing before you make a roll.

Maximillian, the dagger does not break and lands inside your hex.

Ahmet said...

Sorry, missed the part about Andrej having first dibs on that hex.

Alexis Smolensk said...

It usually doesn't matter, but in a tight area like this, I need to keep track of combat order.

Andrej said...

Sorry gents, had a meeting.

Naturally I would have allowed Ahmet to take that swipe. ;)

Andrej puts his mace in his belt and pulls his sling from his belt pouch. I think that should do it for my attacks.

Alexis Smolensk said...

All right, take your swing, Ahmet.

Ahmet said...

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more!

To hit: 12
Damage: 9

Damn your meeting :P

The ankhkeg, due to its size, is not limited in attacking Ahmet, nor can the fighter really hold the passageway against the creature, as it can simply push past or climb along the wall or ceiling. As well, as it lacks intelligence, any movement or flash of light from the torch or other object could cause it to attack that person.

Still, I'll grant Ahmet the value of three persons and say there's a 50% chance it attacks the fighter, and a 1 in 6 chance for the other three characters.

And I roll a 5. Ahmet is skipped over, and alphabetically that means Lukas is attacked. The creature pushes between Ahmet and Andrej, pushes Lukas back to 0429 with its weight and attacks, hitting with a 14. It fails to roll high enough to seize Lukas in its jaws, however, so it only does 2d6 damage - a total of 11 in this case.

Lukas feels himself punctured in the thigh by the creature's pincer, and screams in awful pain. This produces a wound that will bleed every round the creature moves - Lukas is stunned, in any case, and falls backwards into 0428.
