Psammodrons Round 3

They do not attack this round either, in fact they slow up a bit, moving halfway between normal movement and running speed, as they're told to do so by the one in the back who is shouting at the others (H).

It's quite clear from their aggression and growls that they mean to attack, and perhaps to eat you.

The party may move as desired.

Sofia flings a dagger at lizard A. Then feints toward 1317 but shifts direction to move backwards to 0919.

(OOC: I had hoped to draw more than just one of them off, allowing the main party better odds, but as only one came and they probably move as swiftly as I do...)

d20: 4

I cast phantasmal feature

Enrico and Carlito reload.

Kismet Korkmaz said...

Kismet will move to 1128 and throw his handaxe at F.

d20: 3
d6: 1
Given their movement speed he will then wait with a readied pike. Since he hasn't the AP to draw a broadsword at this point.

Well... That happened.

The feint doesn't work. The creature rolls a '1' on its intelligence check and reacts as quickly as Sofia (who yes, does miss).

Neklan, I won't ask what you're casting, but please read the spell VERY carefully.

Noted on Enrico/Carlito's loading. As Carlito is a hireling and not a henchman, I'm going to rule that he moves as he loads to 0725 in order to ensure one of you can target behind the brush at 1726.

Arkemis will parallel Kismet and move to 1027.

(OOC: I'll get the next post up and we'll do two rounds tomorrow. Then I think we're off starting Wednesday for absences)

Should read, "I don't know what you're creating"

Heh, I'll read it again...

OK, rather than haggle over it the way we did last time, I'll just ask.

I was thinking of creating quicksand, in 1027, in the hopes that quicksand was subtle enough that it might reduce the number of foes getting a +4 bonus to their saves.
If there's something besides the save bonus you were referring to, I'd appreciate you pointing it out to me because I'm clearly missing it. Alternatively I could just try something, and you could point out the error of my ways after the fact, or you could let me take an ability check to see if I realize what's wrong with my idea.

Finally, if any feature I make is going to be equally obvious to those approaching it, I might as well make a sinkhole at 1626.

I'm also going to go and make a comment on your original post where you asked us to "break" these spells, about something unrelated.

There's no trouble with creating 'quicksand' in 1027 via the spell.

The concerns I was addressing in pointing out the description of the spell were made evident by questions you asked on the main blog.

The spell description says that a sinkhole (and quicksand, presumably) would not be evident to the creature experiencing it, but that it DOES have to be specified in location - which you've understood.

Please treat this conversation as academic. The spell will NOT come into existence until you declare it so on the next post, which I will have up in about 20 minutes.

This post has been updated so as to show the movement of the party.
