The Glade

Monday, June 9, 1650

Nasira will be drugged, and when she awakes it will be day; fairly early in the day by her observation.  She has been untied, and put into a chair which is set in an open glade, under a tree, hands bound behind the back and fixed to the tree itself.  She is still face stripped, but her head is covered.

Three men stand in front of her.  The mustached leader, a vaguely familiar lighter skinned man whom Nasira was certain was there last night, and a cleric.  The cleric stands furthest away, and only watches.

When they are certain she is awake - and they are not above striking her to be certain - the leader will ask a question: "Who are you, and where do you come from."

OOC: My hard drive crashed. I will continue to post as I can but may not be able to check in the mornings.

"Good morning," I will say trying to shake the cobwebs from my head. "My name is Nasira Binti Abdul Musa of Shah Juy in distant Kabulistan. Like you, we have no love for the Turks."

I will try to soak up any information as to where I am. Are the trees the same? Am I armed?

(OOC: Happens to the best of us. It may just be me - aren't you from Zabulistan? I need to sort that out at this point)

You cannot be far from where you were. You are not armed; you have your clothes, but nothing else. Many of your things have been put into a pile near to you, by the cleric's feet.

OOC: Yes, Nasira is from the village of Shaw Juy in Kabulistan, by my records.

Without giving him much time, is there an obvious holy symbol on the cleric?

OOC: whoops, apparently I have trouble differentiating between a K and a Z. Yes, it is Zabulistan.

(Friends, I will be out of town tomorrow for a job interview. I should be back online Thursday afternoon. Apologies for the short notice; I only just got confirmation of the arrangements.)

OOC: Good luck!

Nasira,

(OOC: We'll assume you said Zabulistan. To answer your question, it would appear the cleric is Christian in dress, beard and haircut, but you see no evident holy symbol)

The leader will look over his shoulder at the holy man, who will nod his head and say, "She is telling the truth."

Whereupon the leader will turn to Nasira, and ask, "For what reason did you come to steal the Womb?" It is evident that the leader speaks this last word with reverence.

(In Nasira's absence, shall we continue the rescue thread until it rejoins her?)

Symeon,

Aric will pull you aside, following hours of the interrogation (which we may assume to have happened). "I do not know if we can save your friend. Let us hope for the best - we cannot wait any longer, and must make our way. Follow me."

(I'll work up a post this morning and we will continue on)

(OOC: Problem; we have a major gas leak outside of our apartment building and I have learned that the streets around are evacuated. I am worried about my partner and managing things where I am - don't know if I will post more today)

(You and yours stay safe. Please let us know when everything is resolved.)

I will follow Aric and keep my eyes and ears open.

(OOC: things have worked out; the gas line has been brought under control, my partner has been allowed to return to our house; and I have been playing whack-a-mole all afternoon. we WILL pick this up tomorrow)

I've managed to write the post I promised yesterday.
